Spring Term
DT - How strong is a piece of spaghetti?
In DT this half term, we have been exploring our key question: How strong is a piece of spaghetti?
We started our unit by thinking about different structures and the properties of spaghetti. Working with our talk partner, we conducted an experiment that tested how strong spaghetti could be. We used cups and weights to see how much mass the spaghetti could hold when we positioned it vertically. After that, we started to evaluate famous or familiar structures from around the world like the Eiffel Tower, radio towers and church spires. Our final challenge was to create a structure that was at least one metre tall.
