Our Community
Our children love being given the opportunity to raise money! We have been extremely successful in raising money for our school, charities and the wider community.
We love having visitors at Scorton and are very lucky that our children meet a range of people from within our village, the wider community and across England to learn about their culture, religion, hobbies, lifestyles and knowledge!
"I liked the Islam workshop because I could ask questions about things that I was unsure of,"
"The skateboarding workshop was so fun! When I first started I thought I wouldn't be able to do it but by the end of it I went on the ramp!"
"We got to ask Cat Smith questions about being an MP and then wrote her letters about the things that really matter to us and our school,"
The Scorton Rose Queen Festival takes place in May and is one of the most anticipated events in our village. Visiting Queens and their retinues join our Rose Queen to process through the village, accompanied by Pilling Brass Band, congregating at school where our Rose Queen is crowned. Our whole church school community work together to make this event so special.
Following the crowning, there are refreshments and stalls and games to visit, run by our Scorton School Association, and everyone comes together to celebrate this special occasion. Our Rose Queen and her retinue are invited to take part in similar celebrations in Garstang, Dolphinholme, Churchtown, Forton and a number of other villages.
