Art - Storytelling Through Drawing

We have spent lots of time exploring the different illustrations in the story Where The Wild Things Are. Today, we created our final art piece and each made our own wild thing. For our first draft we used pencil and then recreated our drawings using pencil.

History - Ancient Egypt

We have been very busy starting our new Ancient Egyptian History unit! We located Egypt on a world map, used hieroglyphics to write our name and created replica mummies using tomatoes. Ask us at home about canopic jars and what a sarcophagus is!

PE - Dodgeball

In our first dodgeball lesson, we worked on our throwing and catching skills using chest and overarm throws. We also thought about the skills we needed to play a game of dodgeball and practiced being agile!

Art - Storytelling Through Drawing

In Art this week, we have been exploring the work of Where the Wild Things author and illustrator, Maurice Sendak. We explored his different illustrations and thought about how we could replicate their textures using pencil and pencil crayon.
